Understand the system you grow with.
Fish, bacteria, plants and water form one connected system. Our field guides help you understand those connections before buying equipment or adding fish.
Two connected publications.
Growing .how is the publishing project behind hydroponics.how and aquaponics.how. Hydroponics covers growing methods, nutrient mixing, crops, equipment and troubleshooting. Aquaponics covers fish selection, feeding, filtration, water chemistry and plant production. Each publication has its own library; relevant chapters connect the two.
hydro.how is an alternate address for hydroponics.how, not a separate publication.
Look, calculate, then check.
Original interactive models show where components fit. Readable diagrams and complete written chapters remain available without 3D. Worked examples show their inputs, units and arithmetic so you can repeat the calculation.
The models are teaching illustrations. Their dimensions and fish counts are not construction specifications or stocking recommendations. Calculator results describe the inputs you supply, not the biological performance of your installation.
Evidence and limits are visible.
We link extension publications, research and manufacturer documentation beside the claims they support. An equipment guide explains selection criteria; it is not a claim that we personally tested every product. Independent specialist review is pending. Source organizations have not endorsed these publications.
How the library is supported.
The publications offer labelled advertising and may earn commissions through disclosed shopping links. Commercial relationships do not buy a favorable recommendation or editorial control. Product eligibility, price and availability are determined by the seller.
